Site Features Interactive Member Directory and Events Calendar; Also Details Member Benefits and Provides Online Membership Application, Dues Payment, Events Registration, Community Links, and More

Saline, MI (May 10, 2010) — The Saline Area Chamber of Commerce has launched its new Web site, www.salinechamber.org, designed and developed by DesignHub, Inc. of Saline.

A highlight of the new Chamber site is an interactive member directory that can be easily searched by multiple selection criteria. A password-protected member login area lets Chamber members themselves update their directory profiles, including logos and photos.

Visitors to the site can also consult an interactive calendar of Chamber-related events. There they can choose from a grid view or a linear view of the database-driven calendar, and click on a specific event for details. Site visitors can then register for events online. A special “email a friend” feature makes it easy to alert others about the event.

In another area of the site, visitors can apply for Chamber membership and pay their membership dues online.

The site’s colorful, easily navigable interface spotlights the new logo for the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. DesignHub also created this logo.

Benefits of Chamber Membership

“We are pleased to provide such an exceptionally helpful new Web resource to our members, both current and prospective,” said Larry Osterling, executive director of the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. “We want members to view this as their site too.”

Osterling added, “Our hats are off to DesignHub. They have given our members a set of innovative Web tools not ordinarily available with other Chamber sites.”

Key benefits of Chamber membership are described on the Web site, particularly the many networking, advertising, and community service opportunities that members enjoy. The Chamber’s newest members are highlighted. Chamber members can also sponsor pages.

Elsewhere the site tells the Chamber’s mission and vision, and profiles its leadership and staff. In addition, site visitors can download current and past editions of the award-winning Saline Business Advocate, the Chamber’s monthly newsletter.

Major Chamber events are detailed in their own Web pages. This includes the monthly “Building Business Relationships” breakfasts, along with annual Chamber-sponsored events such as the Business Enterprise Awards, “Saline Salutes” Citizen Awards, Ellen Ewing “Roast,” golf outing, holiday parade, and more.

Resources for Members and Others

For those considering doing business in Saline, the new Chamber site provides details on area demographics, land and space availability, and industrial parks and zoning, along with business-related contacts in local government within the greater Saline area.

There are also links to other community resources, including the area’s major educational institutions, healthcare providers, recreational offerings, entertainment venues, and service organizations.

The new site welcomes visitors to Saline. It provides maps and details on the area’s accommodations, attractions, schools, sports facilities, and more.

Other site features include the latest news from the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce, presented in a blog format allowing comments from community members. The site’s “Job Connection” page tells of employment opportunities with Chamber members.

Where People and Business Meet for a Better Community

The Saline Area Chamber of Commerce was established in 1956 and incorporated as a non-profit civic organization in 1980. Today the Chamber represents a diverse array of businesses and individuals — nearly 500 members in all, largely from organizations in the City of Saline and the five surrounding townships of Bridgewater, Lodi, Pittsfield, Saline, and York. The Chamber serves as the unified voice for business interests in the area.

Saline, MI (February 23, 2010) – DesignHub, Inc., a Saline-based creative services and marketing firm, won a Silver ADDY Award from the Ann Arbor Ad Club (www.a2ac.org) in the local 2010 ADDY competition.

The award, announced last Friday evening at the club’s ADDY Awards Gala at the University of Michigan’s Horace Rackham School of Graduate Studies ballroom, recognized DesignHub’s work on a poster promoting the “Great Gatsby Regatta,” a fundraising event held last summer to benefit the Saline High School crew team.

Graphic artist Samantha West designed the poster, using a nostalgic-feeling illustrative style and the Gatsby type font to fit the 1920s-era theme of the event.

Print-Tech, Inc. (www.printtechinc.com), a commercial printing, mailing, and distribution services company based in Ann Arbor, printed the full-color poster, which measures 11 inches wide by 17 inches high.

Copies of the poster were sold for $25 each at the Great Gatsby Regatta event itself. West was on hand to sign the posters for buyers. Purchases of the posters were among the many ways the event raised funds for the crew team.

The first annual Great Gatsby Regatta, attended by approximately 150 people, occurred on the evening of August 25, 2009 on the grounds surrounding DesignHub’s offices in the historic Hoyt-Ford commercial buildings at 600 W. Michigan Ave.

The same buildings, on the banks of the Saline River across from Wellers’ Carriage House, also house Phoenix Packaging Corp., whose owners Christopher and Patricia Malloy own and manage the property.
