Homeowner Services of America, Inc. (HSA) – and its sister company, First Design Cabinetry, Inc. (FDC) – have launched new websites, both designed and developed by DesignHub. HSA and FDC are our neighbors here in Saline; they’re just a quarter-mile east of us on Michigan Avenue, near Saline’s downtown. Both HSA and FDC are headed by founder David Rhoads, who has been one of the area’s leaders in home remodeling since the mid-1980s. See the project portfolio, at the center of each site, for prime examples of the companies’ excellent remodeling work.

The new HSA and FDC sites have responsive designs — i.e., they automatically optimize to the visitor’s access device, whether it’s a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smart phone. We developed both sites in WordPress, the popular open-source content management system. Authorized HSA and FDC personnel can use WordPress to make day-to-day updates to the sites’ content themselves.

Aero Corporation – the Saline-based provider of kitting, fulfillment, inventory management, mailing, and other distribution services – has launched their new website, designed and developed by DesignHub. The new website we created for Aero includes brief case studies to help demonstrate their experience and expertise. The site is responsive – i.e., its presentation automatically optimizes to the visitor’s access device, whether it’s a desktop or laptop computer, a tablet, or a smart phone.

DesignHub has developed the search marketing strategy and plan for 401K GPS, the Brighton, Michigan-based company whose online tools help investors simplify retirement planning. Our guidance in search engine optimization (SEO) included a technical audit of the 401kgps.com site, competitive analysis, and search content recommendations. We proposed restructuring the site around landing pages optimized for targeted keywords. We hope to continue working with 401K GPS to help implement the plan in 2015.

You’ve probably seen Food Gatherers’ trucks around Ann Arbor and surrounding communities. They’re rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste. Yep, they’re the white trucks whose sides show the big orange carrots with green sprigs. This beloved – and wildly effective – nonprofit collects food from over 300 area sources, including restaurants, food retailers, and wholesalers.

Now, with DesignHub’s help, Food Gatherers has a new responsive website. This means that the site automatically optimizes for different access devices, including desktops and laptops, tablets, and smart phones. So, from whatever machine you link to foodgatherers.org, you’ll get the easiest-to-view and easiest-to-use presentation.

DesignHub designed and developed Food Gatherers’ previously non-responsive site, and we were pleased and honored to be invited back for this significant upgrade. Check out the site … and consider volunteering for Food Gatherers, a true community treasure.

Not all Ann Arbor-area residents know of Tower Plaza Condominiums, but they almost surely recognize them. They’re in Ann Arbor’s tallest building, right downtown. See it here. Tower Plaza now has a responsive website, thanks to DesignHub’s help. This means that the site’s presentation automatically optimizes to the visitor’s access device, whether it’s a desktop or mobile. Given that so many of Tower Plaza’s residents are University of Michigan students, that mobile device is likeliest to be a smart phone.

In converting the site to a responsive design, DesignHub tightened up the layout and freshened up the look and feel. But the essential message remains: Tower Plaza can be a great place to live, and a smart way to invest – for parents and students, academics and professionals, retirees, and second-home buyers in the Ann Arbor residential market.

Milan Area Schools again this year enlisted DesignHub’s help in promoting the district’s “Schools of Choice” offerings. We designed yard signs and ads for highway billboards and bus boards. We also acquired mailing lists and designed and produced oversized and postcards distinctly targeted to parents of children of elementary and secondary school age. All promotions built on the “Proud Big Red” theme. Information on Milan Area Schools and their Schools of Choice program can be found at milanareaschools.org.

Dr. Lawrence Power, a retired Ann Arbor physician and medical professor, enlisted DesignHub’s help in developing Health Yourself 101, an online learning program focusing on the health risks of visceral obesity. We designed and developed the “Match Play” self-assessment and “Countdown” review sites – along with, of course, the program’s portal site. Dr. Power himself has created almost all of the content. This includes the weekly lessons he conducts online through his Twitter feed. Check it out … and be sure to get to know Dr. Power. He’s a truly accomplished person.

Aero Corporation – the Saline-based provider of kitting, fulfillment, inventory management, mailing, and other distribution services – has selected DesignHub to design and develop the company’s new website. Aero has enjoyed a recent surge in growth. The company is becoming especially adept in international distribution. The new website we create for Aero will help demonstrate their experience and expertise. Learn more.

DesignHub has upgraded the website for West Side Montessori of Toledo, Ohio with a responsive design. This means the site’s presentation automatically optimizes to the visitor’s access device, whether it’s a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smart phone. We have also steadily added to the site’s content and functionality over recent years. Authorized school personnel can easily update the site’s content with the intuitive content management system we’ve built the site upon. Parents recognize West Side as the Toledo area’s leading Montessori school. The site’s rich content, easy navigation, and learning-like look and feel match well to the school’s educational leadership position.

Milan Area Schools again selected DesignHub to help with their “Schools of Choice” marketing campaign for the 2014-15 school year. Our work this year built on what we learned from our initial assignment with the public school district in 2013-14. We have collaborated with MAS on marketing strategies and media plans. We have also produced billboard and bus ads, yard signs, video ads for Comcast Spotlight and area movie theaters, and direct mail programs. “Schools of Choice” enrollments traced to the campaign last year easily paid for the investment. Results this year will be known soon.

DesignHub has been pleased to create a big batch of new promotional materials for the annual Saline Celtic Festival. The fest happens this year on July 11-12 in Saline’s Mill Pond Park. Our work included a new sponsorship brochure and rack card, ads for highway billboards and the sides of Ann Arbor Transit Authority buses, and posters and yard signs for display in and around town. Under the festival committee’s direction, we put the promotional focus on the festival’s music and dance events, Michigan craft brews, sanctioned international jousting tournament… and, of course, Millie the Monster. It’s always an honor to support such a fun, community-building celebration.

Check out the redesigned website for McMullen Properties, the long-time leader in Ann Arbor commercial and residential real estate. DesignHub has helped McMullen re-launch the site in a responsive design. The site now optimizes the organization and presentation of content for whatever device you access it with – desktop or laptop, tablet, or smart phone. Plus the site now puts McMullen’s customer testimonials in the spotlight – and it shows off their beautiful Southside Ann Arbor properties to better advantage.

DesignHub has redesigned and re-launched the website for West Side Montessori of Toledo, Ohio in a responsive design. The site now automatically adapts the presentation to the visitor’s access device – whether it’s a desktop or laptop computer, a tablet, or a smart phone. This optimizes the visitor’s experience on the site. No more “pinch and zoom” for visitors on mobile devices. West Side Montessori is widely recognized as the Toledo area’s top Montessori school – for preschool through middle school.
