DesignHub Creates Logo, Advertising, and Promotions for Pat’s
Pub
SALINE, MI – DesignHub, a Saline-based strategic marketing
communications firm, has been selected to provide marketing communications
and graphic design services to Pat’s Pub, a new casual restaurant
and neighborhood nightspot that opened earlier this month in downtown
Saline.
To date, DesignHub has designed the logo and signage for Pat’s
Pub, developed the restaurant’s advertising and promotions,
and handled publicity for its opening.
Pat’s Pub is a joint venture of Patrick Little, a longtime
Saline resident and civic leader, and Walter and Cindy MacNeil,
owners and operators of Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack, a Saline
mainstay since 1996. The new restaurant is housed in Murphy’s
Crossing, at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Saline-Ann Arbor
Road, downstairs from Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack.
Little describes Pat’s Pub as “a friendly, neighborhood
place. We’ve modeled it after the countryside pubs of Scotland,
Ireland, Wales, and England. Our motto is: ‘You’re a
stranger here but once.’ We’ll know we’ve succeeded
when, after you’ve been here a couple of times, you can order
‘the usual’ and actually get what you expect.”
Pat’s Pub serves traditional “pub grub,” including
fish and chips, hamburgers, and popular sandwiches, side dishes,
and desserts. Also on the menu is characteristic Celtic fare such
as shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage. Favorites from
the Northeastern states and provinces, including New England steamed
mussels and Nova Scotia haddock chowder, round out the menu.
A full bar offers American, Canadian, and Irish beers, Australian
wines, and an extensive selection of whiskeys.
Little, a 28-year Saline resident, served as the city’s
mayor from 1991 to 1996, and is currently a Saline City Council
member. He is also one of the founders and the general chair of
the Saline Celtic Festival, an annual event that attracted over
10,000 attendees in July 2003.
The MacNeils have lived in Saline since 1989. Before opening Mac’s,
Walter MacNeil worked in restaurant management for Mainstreet Ventures,
whose Ann Arbor operations include The Real Seafood Company, Gratzi,
Palio, The Chop House, and La Dolce Vita.
