As Ernst & Young prepared to launch "Eye.on," an
online tax advisory service, they extended this challenge: How
can we get the attention of our top 100 clients, convey to them
vital information about the new service, and generate a healthy
first round of client sign-ups—all in one hard-working promotion?
Our
innovative solution: the Eye.on Welcome Kit. In a custom-designed
box, E&Y delivered a personalized letter, descriptive materials
and instructions, pricing information, sample questions and answers,
and a coupon offering a substantial discount for trial use of the
service. A valuable premium—a heavy-duty aluminum travel
mug bearing the Eye.on logo—rounded out the package. We also
helped E&Y's web team coordinate the online service’s
user interface with design elements created for the Welcome Kit.
Did
E&Y's investment pay off? Did the Welcome Kit do its job?
Consider that most recipients signed up for the discounted trial
usage, meeting the promotion's key objective.
